MEET OUR TEAM: GEORGI GEORGIEV

Would you please introduce yourself?

My name is Georgi, I’m 35, Software Developer with Java at CODIX.

Why did you decide to become a developer?

The idea emerged from one of my hobbies – football. Watching the training of my favorite team, I realized that there was a chip built in the training shoes, which collects information about the athlete (speed, endurance, fatigue, accumulated muscle mass...) and transmits it in real time. I thought that if a small chip could be so useful because of the code written in it, I was once again convinced that the present and the future belong to information technology.

What’s your previous background?

CODIX is my first employer in the IT field. Before I started working here, I studied Java for about a year. Before that I worked for 9 years in a bank as an office manager. The experience gained through working with individual clients (from finding a client, through lending and management of services of a savings nature (deposits, investment products, etc.)) greatly benefits my current work, since the portfolio of banking services is comparable to what CODIX offers through its unique product iMX.

What do you look forward to at work every day?

For me, every new day is a real excitement, because iMX is an extremely flexible software that allows constant adaptation to the needs and requirements of each individual client. This diversity gives me the opportunity to constantly learn and do something new and interesting, which I, as a programmer, particularly enjoy.

What do you like least about work every day?

I can't think of anything in particular that I don't like. And in general, I think there are two types of people – those who perceive work as a burden and those who accept it as a part of life and an opportunity for development. I believe I'm of the second type.

How would you rate your work-life balance?

I would say 50/50.

What do you enjoy about the professional development services offered?

The world of information technology is extremely dynamic and occupies an increasingly large part of our lives. If we think about what life was like just five years ago and now, we will see that it is changing at a rapid pace and that IT is present in all aspects of our daily life. As for the company, one of the most valuable things for me is the continuous investment in training and the opportunity to develop, both in terms of knowledge and career. Even people with minimal or no programming experience can be hired, and they are trained literally from scratch. Our participation in various IT conferences is another great benefit.

What do you love about your position?

I do what I enjoy in a field I like. But most importantly, I keep on learning new things.

What do you think about on your way to work?

Usually, I wonder what the day will surprise me with professionally and personally.

What do you think about on your way home from work?

The time after work is dedicated to my family. I have a wonderful 7-month-old boy and on my way home, I mostly think about what I will do with my beloved ones (cinema, walk in nature...).

What is most important for you which keeps you in CODIX?

The people of course, but mostly the product itself. iMX is constantly evolving and thanks to this flexibility, we are now one of the global leaders in the world of finance. I am also grateful to be part of a team of true professionals with exceptional experience.
